Original description Tetrachrysidibus fairmairei Mocs. et Kirschi Mocs. affinis; - capite thoraceque violascentibus, parum subcyaneis, sed nullo modo virescentibus; segmentis dorsalibus igneo-purpureoqne auratis; - clypeo sat longo, antico parum excavato, in medio fortiter elevato; genis antennarum articulo secundo parum longioribus; antennis articulis tribus primis violascentibus, quarto indistincte violascenti; tertio secundo duplo longiore, quarto dimidio longiore; cavitate faciali lata et plana, subtiliter rugose punctulata, fere coriacea, ad latera albosericeopilosa, superne distincte bisarcuato-carinata; fronte verticeque punctatura minuta et densa lateribus capitis carinatis; pronoto brevissimo, antico in medio sat fortiter sulcato, punctis multo maioribus, minus densis; mesonoto in lobis lateralibus punctatura simili, linea longitudinali impressa; in lobo medio punctis maioribus; scutello postscutelloque punctatoreticulatis, postscutello fortius scutello; dentibus posticolateralibus thoracis sat validis, acutis, incurvis; mesopleuris punctatura irregolari, ex parte reticulatis, longitudinaliter et fortissime transverse punctatosulcatis, sulco transverso foveolis maximis inaequalibus composito; segmentis dorsalibus punctatura duplici primo punctis magnis et minutis intermixtis, ad basim fortiter trifossulato; segmento secundo punctis proportionaliter minoribus quam in segmento primo, carina longitudinali acuta et polita imprimis in dimidio basali; angulis posticolateralibus acute triangularibus; segmento tertio brevi, punctatura duplici, multo minore, in medio longitudinaliter indistincte carinato, disco impresso, serie anteapicali parum incrassato, foveolis circiter 18, inaequalibus, parum confluentibus; margine apical sat lato, subitissime punctulato, dentibus quattuor in linea fere recta positis, acute triangularibus; emarginatura centrali externis angustiore, sed parum profundiore, lateribus segmenti leniter sinuatis; ventre coeruleo et violascenti; pedibus violaceis; tarsis nigris; alis sordide hyalinis, parum infuscatis; venis piceis, cellula radiali parum aperta; - ? long. 9 mm.
Patria: Lusitanien.

Distribution notes after Kimsey & Bohart (1991) the name sculpturata Mocsáry was erroeously placed in synonym of lusitanica Bischoff. Thus in many publications the name lusitanica has been used instead of sculpturata. C. lusitanica s.str. seems to be restricted to Portugal ans S Spain.
